Looking good so far. When you say "secondary bevel", do you mean double concave as per the picture?

Victor aka bluesman7 is pretty incredible when it comes to hollow grinding. Try sending him a PM.
Hi puketui41,
I was referring to a double plunge like the razor below...

I do like the style you pictured however

If you are referring to the shoulders of that blade?
Also referred to as a double cut stabilizer at times.
Thanks very much RezDog, that's exactly what I was referring too! Give it another few weeks and I might have a clue what I'm talking about!
Cheers
Matt, are you perhaps the first man on earth to make a straight razor before using one?
Ha ha I've used one... Once. I do own a couple but didn't bother to get them out. My forge was hot, hammer handy so I just bashed something out! I may do some research/design for the next but I'm having fun.
Got to this point

Looks great! The geometry looks good and I can't wait to see how it cleans up!
First I thought this was a Western Kamisori. Now I have no idea what it is or why that hole is back near the tail. I'm guessing that it is going to be a scaled Kamisori, or a razor on a stick. I still like the work so far. The hole must be a hanging hole...can you post a pic of your grip on the razor...for the life of me I still can't parse that out.
As long as you are having fun that would be the best reason to do it. It looks like you are getting your blade thinned out to about half hollow, although that is just a guess, I really can't tell from the side.
