No, I'm pretty sure the very first person who made the very first straight razor did that ;)

Matt, I wonder if you can sneak a pic of one of your knives in here...if you do, I won't tell.
I think the hole is too big for the tang it is in.

Thanks WW243, appreciate it.[emoji106]
Bluesman7 was kind enough to provide some advice. I ground the razor with a 5" wheel and then went back into the hollow with a 2" wheel.
I need to tidy it up and through hand sanding will refine the edge a little further.
Please excuse my terrible photography. I need to buy a camera!

For those wondering about scales I'm thinking it will have a full sized set on it as it's actually the same length as a normal razor, just a lot less cutting edge.

Hope everyone has had a great New Years. All the best for 2016
I have a removable scale concept in my head that would likely work with that blade.
Put a pin in the hole that sticks out slightly, maybe make it brass, round off the tips. When you make the scales use a spacer or perhaps even a reverse wedge. Where the pivot hole is put two tiny magnets with a hole in the middle. It would clip onto the razor at the pivot and then close and protect the blade, but come off and on easily enough that you could use it as a fixed blade. Fixed blade razors are cool and some have nice stands, but most do not have a great way to protect that blade when not in use.
I like how your grind is coming along. If you look at Victors posts you will see he is very good at grinding the blades quite hollow. Some day I may join with the others and make a few blades. Happy New Year!
