It looks as though you also brought the grind up closer to the top of the tang. This will help with the bevel angle IMO.

Thanks Rezdog, I will play around with some drawing and see what I come up with.
Bluesman7, I did move the grind up higher and happy with the results so far. I could've gone for a deeper hollow but recalled your warning about grinding through. Really keen to get the finishing done but have family visiting, which had slowed things considerably!
Bit of progress...
Sanding, fine grinding, some beveled edges... Just playing around really...

Best photo I could get of the bevels.

Looks good to me, nice fine grind. Forget scales, hang that on a hook...
Thanks Grazor, appreciate it!
Excited to get an edge on it soon!
I'm doing scales so I can work out how it's done and try it. This one will have bolts instead of pins so I can remove them if I don't like it.
Matt, if you are calling the grind (hollow) the bevels (plural), you need to read this: Bevel-setting in theory and practice - Straight Razor Place Library
Carry on...fun documentation!
Looking good.
You have brought that grind down nicely.
Don't forget to put a layer of tape on that.
Before you put the tape on you better ask the Forum whether to tape or not.
I'll probably send it away to get honed by someone that knows what they're doing and has the equipment. My finest stone is only 5000 grit
