Yeah, I've wondered how a replacement SE or frameback blade would turn out but figured it was cost prohibitive or there was no demand for it since you don't hear about it. I'm not familiar with lather catchers, but thought the Rolls razor blades looked like they could be reproduced.

There is definitely demand for these. There's a whole forum dedicated to lather catcher razors and vintage SE razors, most which take wedge blades. I know one guy who requested 7 blades after I told him I was having someone make me one.

I think the biggest issue is cost, hence why no one has really mass produced these. And vintage SE wedge razors are a niche within a niche.

Lather catchers and other vintagewedge-type SE razors like the Henckels Rapide are the closest thing you can get to a straight razor without actually using a straight. It's like having a straight razor on a stick.

Which forum would this be? I'm getting into SEs (I now have 4 different kinds), and I'm finding it difficult to find much information about them.

Here you go Joel. Great group of guys who are very knowledgeable when it comes to these old SE razors and the forum is full of info.

Was just checking out the SE site, didn't see to many references to the classic Wilkinson 7 Day set of razors, great SE's, fun job to get all the blades honed, but along with the Rolls, the Wilkinson is one of my favourites.

Getting a nice Ever Ready has been on my radar for years....
