Thanked: 59Just for fun
I started another one. No real challenge or experiment with this one. Just some practice with a shape that I have been wanting to play with. Forged from the same piece of coil spring.

Thanked: 59Thanks guys. After taking some measurements, I had to take it back to the grinder and narrow up the blade a bit. It now measures just a bit over 3/4" wide.

Thanked: 59Didn’t do much today but I did get it hardened, finished ground and tempered. Here are a few pics of the day.
My view from the forge as I opened up the barn.
My next razor is waiting in this bar of steel.
A little heat.
Ready for polishing. Still has the straw color from the tempering.

Thanked: 59I have the bevel set and then took it to 4k. I wanted to make sure the grind was correct before making the scales. It sharpened up well but is still a bit thick. I was going for a near wedge (which I got) but the bevel is a little wide. I'm sure it will work, but I think it will go back to the grinder one more time. I have to go to Spokane today so not much else is going to get done until tomorrow.

Thanked: 59Here it is after the last trip to the grinder. I reset the bevel with the 1k DMT and etched my initials. It is now finally ready for scales.
