Thanked: 77Grinding service for toe modification?
I think I've found the perfect blade configuration for me. So then I started thinking... what if I could have a couple of my other razors modified to match? Any thoughts?
The top one is exactly what I'm looking for.

Is this something you want to do yourself, or do you want to have it done for you?
I have done this a couple of times before, and I could do it for you if you want. Where are you located?
There are several people in the US who could do this too (I live in western europe). The first name that comes to mind in the US is Glen (gssixgun) If you live in the Us it would make more sense to send your razors to someone like him.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

The third razor you could easily regrind but the second razor would look funky as the gold wash would be off center and you will lose the oval markings looking centered too. But if that's the least of your problems then go for it.

Thanked: 13246Yeah I can do those, you have pm Dave...
I might have to agree with Mad Max on the Dovo Ice it might look a little funky and the extreme thinness of that blade worries me I had one myself for quite awhile before Cary/earthdawn got it from me...
we'll talk in pm...

Thanked: 77Yea, I was torn thinking about that too... But I like that blade. It shaves very "differently" than my others. It's a nice change in the rotation. The Kinfolks and the KW feel similar. The Bergischer (no, definitely wouldn't consider changing the asthetics on that) is thin enough you can feel the flex. The Micarta is on the other end from the Bergischer. I can imagine that's what a wedge feels like. The blade is distinctly "stiffer".
So, ideally, I want short spike points. but there is that thing about hacking a finished work, and the resulting aesthetics (secondary). I could always remove the gold wash. It wouldn't be chopped off but it would be off center. The ovals would be truncated. On the other hand it's not a vintage blade and they're still readily available.
Bergischer: No
KW: Sure
Micarta: ...Maybe... I'll have to fret over this for some time.
