    Congrats - that looks like a real sweet setup! I'm really looking forward to seeing your progress - are you going to document your attempts and lessons learned (for the rest of us even vaguely comtemplating taking up this endeavour?).

    Definitely a PM coming your way for info. Those suckas are big bucks on Texas Knifemakers site that's for sure. There is a really good tutorial on British Blades on how to make your own, but I think you've got the right idea, Alex.

    YOU bought a Bader, I made my own grinder. Problem is, you're cranking out work and I still have to fine tune/resolve issues with my contact wheels hopping more than I'd like.

    YOU bought a kiln and you're on your way to heat treating. I'm still lured by the DIY siren song of building my own which is great to dream about, but dreaming doesn't make razors.

    So, hat's off to you, my friend. There's a time for DIY and there's a time to BUY stuff so you can start making stuff!!

    man, my grandma had a kiln, about waist high, maybe six feet in circumference for her pottery. When she was ill my Mom and Dad ended up giving it away to a senior center.
