I can't believe what you've managed to produce using that brick thing! Looking forward to seeing what comes out of the new one!

Thanked: 995Charlie, that looks pretty good! Do you anticipate having to choke the burner down at all?

Thanks for the comments.
It is the same on both ends there are two shelves.
I have a choke made but could not tell that it made any positive changes. Perhaps I need bigger vent holes like has been suggested to me. There are three of the vents plus the portion of the tube that is not blocked by the 1/8 pipe. The jet is a 1/8 pipe with a cap on it drilled to .5MM - .020”. I made several different jets.
I have several burners that I made this one runs the best over the greatest range of pressures and flows.
It seems to run smooth and heat up quickly.

good burner
Your burner and forge look like it will get the job done.
For others who may be interested do a search for Ron Reil and burners/forge. or go to his website and browse around
Site Map
Also have a look at the hybrid burner webpage (these burners are described on Ron's page also)
Hybridburners.com home page
A good way to make burner tips is to use mig welder tips (tweeco tips mentioned alot).
What did you use for insulation in the firebox?
