Thanked: 170My first custom
Well, it's not quite ready for prime time - needs more polishing, and I learned a lot about how not to hone a hand made blade, but - I'm dam proud of it for a first attempt! Thanks, Mike Blue, for all your help with heat treating. O1 steel, Olivewood scales with Tung Oil, and brass pins and washers. And, I just found out you can't edit the title of a post - I really do know how to spell "custom"!

Great job. Even with the file work it has a "smooth" look to it. Keep up the good work

Thanked: 170Thanks to the moderator, or whoever fixed the spelling of "custom". I goofed and spelled it "custon" in my original post, and was unable to change it. Thanks for all the kind words, guys. I'm going to finish honing it and try a shave later this week.
