Beginner: Really interested, i have a lot of questions
If i'm curious about starting this, Where should i look first to read about it? I want to learn how to do it, but i need to research it first. I have ZERO experience, but this seems like an amazing hobby. How did you get started? where did you learn? who are the gurus around here?

There is a beginners section in the wiki, which is a good place to start. You can also use the search function to seek out answers to any particular questions or on particular subjects. And don't forget to check the stickies in each section.
Even with those existing, you will find many members will still answer direct questions that are in the wiki or answered elsewhere on the forum if you were to start a thread with a specific question (or more specific than those you pose here).
As for who the gurus are, that is something that I'm not sure could be definitely answered. You have the Mentors and others who have been around the forum for a while (look at join dates and post counts over on the left, under the member's name as you read posts), but there are also many new to the forum who bring much knowledge and experience. In short, you'll kind of have to pick that up as you read around.
Welcome to the forum, and welcome to the sport.

Thanked: 67Welcome aboard!
There's a wealth of information in the library (link at top left of this page), including stuff specifically aimed at beginners. Once you've exhausted the library, there's a huge amount of forum posts to search through - many, many questions have been asked already. If you can't find the info you want in the library or existing forum threads, then ask away! Lots of friendly and well-informed people here.
There's a recent thread on one of your questions, when & why did you start using a straight razor?
Personally I learned pretty much everything from this very site, and I suspect that many people here did - the old father-teaching-son transmission of the art probably isn't around that much anymore.

I agree with everything already said above. The only thing that I would add is that if you list your location in your member info, someone in your area might step up for some hands-on instruction. It's up to you, but I've found that we have upstanding gentlemen on this forum.
