Stores to visit in Philly?
I'm going to be in Philly this weekend. Does anyone know of any shaving related stores that might be interesting? Being a tourist always gives me a great excuse for buying more stuff I don't really need. Thanks!

I live near philly and I dont know of any stores that would be of shaving interest. There is a place about 40 minutes outside of philly that gives great shaves. They are done with disposable blades, but it is a wonderful experience. Here is the website http://www.shavinggracebarbers.com/home.htm If you call ask for an appointment with Jodi, he is excellent.

Thanks Josh, social obligations are going to keep me in Philly proper, but next time I'm in the area, I'll look into this.

Josh,
Did you ever get shaved there? The "Straight to heaven" sounds great.
I had friends outside of Philly. Hatboro, Jenkintown and Bensalem.

Ooh, that's not too far, I may have to check it out.
Just outside Phila, near Villanova University, there is a shop I found that has T&H and AOS products, along with other neat things. It's mainly a tobacconist. I wish I could remember the name, though - I could drive to it again, but I forget what it's called.

Coming to Philly eh?
I live right outside Phila (Blue Bell) and do not know of any place
extraordinary. Try the King of Prussia Mall where all of the high end stores are including Neiman Marcus. Other than that I wish Keith would remember the name of that place for me. Actually, you should forget the shaving stuff and concentrate on the restaurants. Great food in Philly!!!!

Nordstroms in the KOP mall has T&H supplies, Lucky Tiger, and maybe more. Last time I was in the area, I was busy with business, but my wife picked up some supplies there for me.
Seems to me that the Lord & Taylor in center city had some AOS stuff. I think that's no longer L&T...Macy's now? I don't know if they still have anything.
Also, FWIW, my son has been shaved at the Shaving Grace a couple of times and enjoyed the experience (though he knows nothing about straight razor shaving).

Thanked: 55A great place to visit in Philly proper is Black Cat Cigar shop located between 15th and 16th on Sansom St. They have a lot of Taylors stuff including some stuff that is not typically sold online. Other than that I cannot think of anyplace in particular in the city. I worked in Center City for 6 years so unless anything has come in the last two years I would probably know about it.
Take the suggestion to try the food, it is superb. Brasserie Perrier, Le Bec Fin, Davios are some places that come to mind. If you enjoy a good cigar, then I highly recommend a parlor on Walnut St called Mahogany, it's above Holt's Cigar shop as well as across the street from Le Bec Fin. It is a very classy place and Tom, the owner takes very good care of his customers. The food is very good as well.
Good luck and enjoy your stay.

EL

I do remember now. It was a Tinder Box, in Haverford, which is right next to Villanova.
Here you go: 391 West Lancaster Avenue, Haverford, Pennsylvania 19041
610.896.4511, Toll Free 800.330.3483. http://www.tinderboxinternational.co...pages/p670.htm
You might want to call them and see if they still have the shaving stuff, though they had quite a bit, including some nice T&H gift sets, only a month or two ago.
