    Default It had to come.

Today was the first day since buying my first straight razor that I didn't use one to shave with, rather, I used the old Mach 3 or 4 or whatever it is.
After rushing home from work I went outside to mow the dog pens and use the weedeater for a while then I rushed inside, took my pants off in the garage since i spilled gas on them and proceeded up the stairs to take a shower. After showering I broke out the Tabac and my Bergisher Lowe and started the ritual. Little to my surprise my hands were shaking like a leaf. I then remembered the effect of an hour or so of weedeating does to my arms. My weedeater will take on any small tree so the vibration is pretty strong.
It was really funny because all i could think was of the commercial on TV of the Dentist or Doctor getting ready to do their procedure and they pulled back because they were shaking so bad. That's what i looked like.
I have decided that the moral to my story is, don't give up your big weedeater, just increase your Roundup spraying program....or shave in the morning.
The value and interest of life is not so much to do conspicuous things.........as to do ordinary things with the perception of their enormous value.

Would it be an exercise in futility to try and get SWMBO to take up the new and exciting hobby of "Competitive Motorized Vegetation Barbering"?

Lol, that's true, although she has become a real champ on my zero turn. Maybe there's hope.

Actually, I applaud your decision to play it safe and use a different type of razor. Probably the wisest decision, though skipping the shave altogether would work just as well.

I'm actually in a similar predicament. I was looking forward to a nice straight shave today but I wrenched my neck yesterday and am prone to neck spasms. I'm sure we can all agree that neck spasms + straight razor = very bad results. On the bright side, the longer growth will provide an excellent shave when I'm able to get around to it.

Neck spasms and a razor does not paint a pretty picture. Get well soon!!!

Days like that is one of reasons i keep a few DEs around the house, not quite as good as a straight (imo) but better than a mach 3

My hat is off to you, I have PTSD and some times have shaking fits (nothing bad just the shakes in my hands) and found out the hard way that your straight plus shakey hands are no good for your face.
A married man should forget his mistakes. There is no use in two people remembernig the same thing.
