Any Paramedics or EMTs?
Doing a role call for any EMS workers. Where are you from, do you have any shaving supplies at the station?

Been a paramedic for about 12 years. I always take my shaving kit to the station.
Last night, I shot an elephant in my pajamas..........

Thanked: 68Full time Paramedic (now ALS) for 10 years now.
Shift pattern is Day. Day. Night. Night. 4 Off.
11hr days and 13 hr nights,
No need to shave at work - straight shave before going to work each 'day' and DE shave of the head when I feel like it.Don't do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the paramedics!

Thanked: 4826Not exactly. I am however a Rescue Specialist. I have EMT training as well as marine fire fighting training. I work search and rescue. I work 21 days straight and really have no choice but to bring my gear to the station as I have to be there 24hrs a day.

am horrified to realize i was certified as a combat medic 18 years ago. 3 years regular service and the rest as a reservist (we do about a 3 weeks a year on average). 4 years ago I also started volunteering as a civilian EMT and first responder. most of those 18 years I had a full beard, so a shaving kit was not an issue (been keeping a goatee only for the past 4-5 years), and today I just shave before a shift if I can. when on reserve duty I take a DE since we operate out of prefabs if we're lucky, out of a jeep or an APC if we're slightly less so, or out of our battle kits if need be. last option I don't bother with shaving and revert to my grizzly impersonation that earned me my nickname a lot of years ago.

I work as a paramedic doing one 48 and one 24 hour shift a week so I have my own little shave kit at the station lol. Also I find a little talc keeps things dry on some of the more "intense" calls.

I actually work 14/14 as rig medic/safety rep so I have to bring all my gear with me. We're in an H2S field now so we have to stay clean shaven. That means I HAVE to shave daily!
But I also work PRN for a county service when I'm home just to keep the skills up.Last night, I shot an elephant in my pajamas..........
