    Default One Year in Reflection

    Greetings all,

It has been awhile since I last posted, and I feel that I must excuse myself if you will allow it. In the last few months I graduated with my Master's in Civil Engineering emphasizing in Structural Engineering. I then moved in with a friend and found what I call a Temperary Job with a Land Surveying Firm to hold me over as I looked for a career in Engineering. Low and behold I was finally signed on as a Structural Engineer at a firm and my life has settled down a bit.

For those that remember, I started straight razor shaving Mid-July last year. I am pleased to say I have not looked back from wet shaving. I have a DE for rushed mornings and that is the lowest I have gone. I enjoy a career that I have what I consider ample time for a single pass shave easily before I leave and sometimes a double if I get going a bit faster.

My collection of razors has grown past the Hart I started with and I use each when I can. I will say that I fall back on the Hart more often than the others, but each has their own feel.

I am glad to have started wet shaving. So many things that I never would have considered like aftershave I now use religiously. The badger is my best friend and the ladies love how smooth even a single pass can be. I have a collection of soaps and one cream as I found I am more the soap man. Nothing against cream, I just prefer the feel of soap lather.

I assembled a shave station as I went along. A Victorian shaving stand with a Victorian nightstand next to it with a pitcher and basin, and a cast iron hook to hang my strop. I am currently working on a custom Seven Day Box.

I met a great group of friends and I met some in person in St. Louis.

Over all this has been a great move in my life and I am glad you were here to get me started.
Shaving with facial hair is like a golfcourse. It's a challenge of rough and fairways. You are the skilled greenskeeper of your face?
