Thanked: 1School dress code and facial hair
Well, in Azle Isd's dress code, it says all male students (ages 12-18, I believe) must be clean shaven. While Im not one to defy authority, Im curious why the dress code might say that. Why not, for example, say you can have that goatee you've always wanted to grow, but it has to be neatly kept? And another question is if one turns 19 at some point their senior year, does that clause in the dress code still apply?

Thanked: 983They must be picky if they care about the peach fuzz on a 12 to 18 year olds face. But hey! Who gives a damn?! It's just an excuse to use that cut-throat on a daily basis .

Thanked: 1587Probably a question better directed to the School itself.
However, if I were to wildly theorize about the general nature of facial hair and high school dress codes, I'd say this: have you seen the average adolescent male's attempt to grow facial hair? The rules are probably in place so the teachers don't burst into fits of hysterical laughter during class.

Thanked: 884Possibly because Azle might be trying to distance itself from the joke of a school system known as Fort Worth ISD?
Do Lake Worth and Springtown have similar codes as Azle?
My kid is finally graduated from White Settlement ISD. He didn't like it, but I enforced the same clean shaven code on him as Azle is enforcing. He got over it.Member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.

Thanked: 1I don't know about Lake Worth ISD, but I can always ask my friend across the street about Springtown (literally, we live on opposite sides of the district line!). And, Mick, sadly I must infome you that I resort to the abomination known as the electric razor for reasons stated in a previous thread.
Still... Perhaps the reason for the clean-shaven code is so that people know who's a student and who's a teacher? Just a thought, but it seems logical...

Thanked: 485Oh it's just the beginning of the system whereby ridiculous rules will be forced upon you for the rest of your life as the burden you bear for the 'privilege' of living in a 'society' with other human beings and the feeling of 'comfort' and 'belonging' that that shall bring to you.
They will even tell you how to die and be buried.Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Thanked: 1A bike pump.... At any rate... Just this week, I had to get a temporary ID, which I justly call dunce tags and had to not only pay a dollar to get out of detention, but I also had to shave with the crappiest disposable razor on the planet... Why, Azle ISD, why I ask?!

Thanked: 485You had to PAY to get out of detention? What madness is this? Is the detention system in your school privatised like your prisons? Sounds to me you should pack up your belongings in a large red and white spotted kerchief, tie them onto a stick to carry over your shoulder, and hit the roads to find a nice Amish community to take you in...

Thanked: 1Well, you pay a dollar for the temporary ID, and if you don't pay, that's what gets you the detention, so I believe. Luckily, I've never had to experience detention! At any rate, I agree.... It's madness...
