Thanked: 105Looking for feed back
I am thinking of selling my razor collection and was wondering how best to go about it. I have over 1000 razors, most are in good shape, some new, some parts. I am curently making a list of all of them but at this time it is incomplete.
Any sugestion?

I'm not sure exactly the best way to approach it...you could always post here at SRP either in the forums or the classified section. You could sell them on Ebay as well - if they are in relatively good shape, you might get more $ for them if they turn heads and there is a bidding war.
I would gladly take a couple off your hands, if in fact you were just looking to get rid of a couple

Thanked: 105Most are in good shape. I have several that are like new or new in box. they run from ivory scales to plain wood scales. If you are looking for a certian brand name or style I would be interested in selling some.

That must be an impressive sight... 1000 razors .
Regardless of whether/how you proceed to liquidate your collection, I would certainly be interested in having you open a dialog here and share some of your knowledge and the exploits that led to amassing such a collection.

I'd love to see the list as well. I am interested in picking up a larger type, 7/8 or larger razor, so anything that fits that bill. I'm also interested in a Friodur, Masonic razors, razors with decorative etching (DaVinci, Monet, etc.. if they exist) and a large Wade & Butcher 'meat cleaver' type.
Thanks,
John
PS Prepare to be inundated with messages. 1000 razors, from a collector, is like chum in the water on this forum. Good Luck.

Thanked: 105My grand farther gave me his straight razor (which was well used) and from there I began looking for newer and better razors. Now I have no place to display them, hence I decided to see if there was any interest in them and see about selling them. I am new to this site so I dont know all the in & out of it yet. I am trying to figure out how to attach a photo if that would be of interest to you.

Jeepers, I'd love to see what you have going on as well. When you figure out how to Private Message (click under the date in the upper right) yuo could send me your email address, I'll respond and you can send the list and any photos that way. I like 6&&/8 spike points with a curved smile shape best myself. I also love wooden scales. Sheffield steel is a good thing in my book too.

Welcome to the site. I think you'll find our community to be both friendly and helpful. We also have numerous members that share some of your other interests (eg, motorcycles?), so you can join in many non-razor discussions as well.
You can attach up to 5 pictures to a post you make here by clicking the "Manage Attachments" button located further down on the screen you type the message in. The attachments are size-limited, so depending on your digital camera and it's settings, you will likely have to resize the picture first (eg, .jpg files are limited to 620x480 in size and 97kb). You could also upload them to our User Gallery and/or post them in our classifieds section. If you have a large number of pictures to process PM (private message) me and I'll assist you in getting them posted/uploaded/whatever.

I'm sure you have some very nice pieces and no doubt there are many here who would like to purchase some of what you have.
I know some here will hate me for saying this but from your standpoint of someone wanting to get the best price for his items I think you need the widest possible exposure and although you could try selling them here and the other forums Eboy is where you will get the best exposure and the market will determine the best prices provided you have good pictures and complete descriptions.
And by the way if you have any unusual Double Ducks let me know!No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
