I've thought about doing this at my gym, but I hate to lug around all the stuff to shave with. Its just a pain to tote around a brush, mug, soap, bowl, razor, strop, and towel.

Strop before you go and bring a bottle of Lush Ambrosia with you.

    That is nice indeed.

I once shaved in the public bathroom of a youth hostel with a 1 foot combat knife.
I was traveling in Germany with 2 friends, and I had forgotten my razor.
One of my friends bought a solingen steel made combat knife that was very sharp.

So instead of wimping out and using a disposable, I made do with the combat knife, much to the surpise of the other persons in the bathroom.

All that was missing was a cigar in the corner of my mouth, but I don't smoke.

I remember a couple of years ago, I was on holiday at my grandmother's when I first started using a straight (actually a shavette then). After word got out what I was using to shave with I had an audience before long!! Uncles, cousins, aunties and even a great uncle . They all queued up to watch me in the bathroom every morning!! I made a few teasing comments like "what's the matter - have you never seen a real man shave with a real razor before?". They were genuinely frightened though!! One of them at one point said "yeah, we're just here in case you need us to call you an ambulance". On my first day there, I was in hysterics . I couldn't stop laughing at them - the look on their faces was just priceless.

I strop my razor the night before. I'm currently using a tube of cream and build a lather in my palm with the brush. It all fits neatly in my small toiletries bag. I just have to remember to take my brush out to air dry when I get home. A very minimalist approach. A puck of Prorasso would fit as well. But now I only get to use my other shaving mugs, etc. on weekends.

I always thought about doing this...but my hands and arms always shook so bad after working out that I was afraid I would slice myself open!

With that new blade that Bill made for you...I'd be afraid that I'd decapitate myself...forget the nick or slice.

oh! come-on it'd be just like the battery powered Fusion!

I have the same worry, I went to try it once and got the razor all the way to my lathered face but then saww how bad I was shaking and just couldn't touch myself with it.

I agree with you. I can't work out on Wednesdays because it throws off my pool game for league night and I can't have that!

I finally got around to shaving after my workout this morning. I had stropped my razor before I left the house, and took only a puck of Colleen's soap, my brush, bowl, and razor with me. It actually went well, except for the poor lighting at the sink I was at.

I didnt have any comments from guys, but I had a few people I saw do a double take as they walked by.
