I'm clearing out an area in my garage.. I'm thinking about buying a work bench.. I'm looking for something that has multiple purposes.. I wanna b able to use it for razor restores and general purpose work mounting a vice is a must and being able to clamp stuff on it .. Possibly mount a belt sander rotary sander to it.. I really like this one from lowes

All I've got is a 3x6-foot repurposed kitchen table on my front porch. However, I have seen lots of photographs about gssixgun's shop setup, and one thing that struck me was his very large central worktable, around which a variety of bench-grinders were mounted, giving him unfettered access to all of them... no having to "unclamp this, then move that here and fasten it" <yada yada yada>. In short, once it's set-up, it's set-up... and useful. I don't know about other workbench areas -- you didn't think gssixgun had only the one, did you? -- but I'm sure a search here on SRP will provide more information, written and visual; and searching on his website: www.gemstarcustoms.com, will provide maybe more than you ever wanted to know. Bottom line? Glen is approachable and shares information as if he didn't know any better [that's a compliment, cowboy].
You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

That is not a bad bench. Is that about how much room your going to have? Where I am going with this question is why not build one yourself out of lumber ? You can customize everything that way. Make it 10' long. It's another project but that's the way I do it. :<0)
    JBHoren and Chevhead like this.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

the bench itself looks ok but it isn't very big. Whatever you do it should be sized appropriate for your space. If you want a vise and a place to set up bench top tools etc you are going to need a little more than 5'x2'. Try drawing you space to scale and figure out what is going to fit best.
