I've thought about this before too. In my head i have an image of a giant sculpture of a fish ( like a carp or something), made up of hundreds of old blades spot welded together to look like fish scales. Big ol sway- backs for the fins. All i need is hundreds of unrestorable blades, an ability to weld, and some talent. Still working on step one.

I barely know anything about refurbishing old razors but wouldn't it be possible to try to grind the rust off and hone it and get a usable razor out of it? If it is in really bad condition it might not be very much left of it but wouldn't it be fun to try at least? Provided that you have the right equipment that is.

Cut off the blade at the shoulder, polish the tang and use it as a key chain- lol

Ok maybe that not the best idea, but it's an idea none the less.

I give them to a wood carver friend of mine, he makes small carving tools from them.

Years ago he used to buy good razors from the antique store and grind them into carving tools, Gasp! I have talked him out of that practice. I give him all my old scrap razors.
