Thread: Razors in UK

Hi chaps,

I was wondering if anyone on my side of the pond has any ideas on where to come by straights.

Antique shops are a bit hit and miss, you'll hit the jackpot one week and it will be an awfully long time before your next find.

eBay is an obvious source but a lot of the time the razors seem really quite over priced or are in quite poor condition and still asking a lot.

I like new razors but like old ones more. Any ideas?

Hi Dave,

You can try the BST here, B&B or The Shaving Room (it's UK based). What size straights are you looking for. I've got a few smaller one's 5/8ths that I'm looking to sell and I don't use anything under 7/8th's anymore.

I've looked at the site before. Seems better value, look at the 2 bismarks, easily twice the price on eBay. It's nuts. You see so many people paying well over the odds and not just for razors.

Anything in reasonable nick really. I've a couple that I love but haven't tried enough straights to know anymore than I enjoy shaving with them and they all have different characters.

I've joined the shaving room to have a poke around and see what's what too, cheers for that.
