Thanked: 2Str8 razor barbershops in Phoenix?
Does anyone know of any traditional barbershops in Phoenix which give str8 razor shaves, preferrably with non-feather str8s? Info on the shop and your experience would be helpful.
To the SRP administrators...could a reference list be started (presuming there isn't one already) re: barbershops which offer str8 razor shaves?
Thanks.

By all means, feel free to start keeping the list. There were some threads quite a while back that may have some useful references in them, too. I don't think you'll find too many Barbers using a real str8 anymore... the state barbering laws prohibit that in most states now.
BTW, you can maintain the list as a thread, a post you repeatedly modify, a document in the Library, etc. PM me if you need any questions answered, etc. Keep in mind that the site administrators provide the facilities, but for the most part members provide the information and maintain lists such as the one you mentioned. (As examples, JLStorm maintains a Vendor List and str8razor maintains the member/ebay name list.)

Thanked: 369I think this was mentioned once before, but I bet any barber who still offers shaving service (and most barbers, not cosmetologists, do Edit: in the US) would probably shave you with a genuine straight razor if you provide the equipment.
It might be a bit of a hassle, but I bet you could convince one to do it. Especially if you are a regular customer. Just ease your barber into the idea. It's worth asking.
Just a suggestion.

Thanked: 0I'm struggling to find many barbers around here (West Midlands,UK) that are interested in wet shaving at all. My local barber employs an Egyptian guy who can do them and seems to be much more skilled than the other people in the shop. He does a couple of neat tricks with knots of cotton for plucking eyebrows too! I just don't think that young people coming out of college are shown how to shave men and as a result make lousy excuses about restrictions being placed on them by Health & Safety inspectors!!!
Anyway, I'm going to make an appointmment to go down to Trumpers in Mayfair and see how they do it. They can even give shaving lessons if you arrange it beforehand.
