I did it once, remember it well, was my first superbutterysharp hone job...just to see if i could, as whiskers seemed to just melt in front of that edge.
Worked fine, but as others say, WTG and XTG is plenty. I get my XTG by swinging across from the topside at the corners, then from below in the middle.

I do ATG all the time because it's the only way I can get a super close (BSS) shave there. For me the keys are shorten the whiskers first. WTG, ATG which is more of a 45 degree angle across the upper lip then the ATG. Use short strokes is the key with light pressure.

As stated before shorter hair is much easier especially when doing the death stroke atg. I personally want to continue waking up and smelling the roses lol.

Would holding the razor at 90 degrees be useful when shaving at this area?

Thanked: 2Okay, now this works for me. I just hold with my free hand a tube of used toothpaste against my nose, and this has allowed me to ATG with success. It works for me ....
