Hope Neil gets better soon, my hope and prayers go out to him.

I'm very familiar with Pneumonia as I had it 4 or 5 times in my life time, not a very good thing to get.

Just to update you regarding Neil he's had a pretty rough time of it but he's finally home and making slow but steady progress.

Hi Guys - many thanks for your concern and taking the time to post, makes me feel very humble indeed.

I was in the hospital for around 3 weeks, 8 days of which was in intensive care. They were great people, really concerned and capable and friendly - thanks to them I am still here after getting over double pneumonia and being on a forced oxygen breathing machine.

Still not 100%, so my speed has had to be recalibrated from its former two settings of slow and stop to very slow and stop.

Although I was ill before xmas, bull-headedly I managed to soldier on until after new year, becoming delirious and losing the power to walk on my birthday (9th Jan) and being taken to the IC unit where I was out of it for another couple of days.

Saw a lot of very sad folk there, most far worse off than me but still cheerful and friendly which helped me realise I wasn't too badly off at all. I was moved to three different wards and although I only knew some of these guys for a week or two I will never forget them.

Although they cleared up the pneumonia they let me go with a few things that have yet to be diagnosed - they stuck a tube in my lung and drained it of 4 litres of fluid the day I was discharged. Such fun.

Anyway, enough of all that - managed to slip away from Old Nick once more, which can't be bad.

    Sincerely (and thanks again)
    Neil
