I noticed that many names seem to have stopped posting. That's it...all I have to say on it.

Ours is a strange sport,Newbs get attracted and go nutso for a couple mos. Than when they realize that shaving, Honing etc is really far more difficult Than they thought,They drop off the radar, never to be seen again.
Most of what we do takes alot of dedication and time.Younger people today want instant gratification, when that do's not happen, they leave

In honesty it is a good thing.

I have spent quite a bit of time in the archives, so much to take in. You can see how trends have gone as well.
Some members have come and gone in a few months, some were very active for a long while and then slipped away.
A few that were very active before seem to pop back up out of the blue, I think many of those still follow but don't post as much.
There are even a few that don't post any more that I feel like I know just from reading the knowledge and experiences they offered when they were active/more active.

And of course some are corner stones in the community and some key stones in the arches of these hallowed halls.

This place does encourage AD as well. Perhaps some of those with ADs stay away so they don't wind up seeing all the pictures of razors, hones, and brushes as some sort of therapy. Or some combination of all of the above.

People leave for many reasons. Some come to learn and when they get what they want they are gone. Some get burned out or are bored and leave for greener pastures. Some have to adjust to changes in their lives and leave for that reason. If you look at the members when this site started you probably won't find more than a few who actively post.

Sites evolve and the old are replaced by the new. When that stops happening sites usually go under.

I think many of them couldn't get their razors to pass the HHT and just gave up.

A lot of folks, especially newbees, get the idea in their head that the HHT means the razor will shave great. My own experience has told me the HHT only means its sharp, sharp doesn't mean it will shave let alone give a good shave.

A lot of eBay folks are describing their razors as passing the HHT as a selling point. When I see 'HHT' in the listing I leave there and keep looking as it tells me they really don't understand the product they are trying to sell.
