None of my razors pass the "HHT" test, yet they all shave perfectly...

Yes - when I started investigating SR shaving, after awhile I stumbled on this website, and read Jack's, "The Noob Chronicles", where he detailed his entire first year I think in SR shaving. I was fascinated by what he wrote, and after awhile felt that I kind of got to know him. He's the one, along with the Manliest Shave video, that got me to pull the trigger on ordering a starter kit, and then finally joining this site, and what a great ride it's been.
Finally got to meet Jack in downtown TO when I bought a Revisor 8/8 razor from him, very nice guy and a class act! He doesn't seem to post really anymore, but then again, a new baby and a young family has a way of doing that.
But yes, still chuckle when I heard the term, "necroposting", new people to the site responding to threads years old...great stuff never goes away!
Cheers!

It's a crying shame to see newbies give up after a couple months,,,,,leaving all that nice equipment in the classified section on the way out,,,,

Nope, this did not just pop up out of nowhere....I have loved knives since I was a kid, liked geology, things hand made, wet shaved for about 12 years with a double edge before I picked up a straight....like history....and like the quiet intensity of shaving with a straight razor....my favorite razors live on top of my bureau and I honestly do not tire of looking at them....so I'll be around although I might get more quiet and, as a side note, these last two weeks I bid and won two razors on Ebay, plus logged in 3 new shaving creams...I could go on.....

There is a point where most of us I would guess have to say: no, I will never own that razor. For me a short session of rage, jealously and some other negative emotions....then I move on and appreciate the beauty and feel lucky to have what I do have, and to have made a few friends.....
