People leave for many reasons. Some come to learn and when they get what they want they are gone. Some get burned out or are bored and leave for greener pastures. Some have to adjust to changes in their lives and leave for that reason. If you look at the members when this site started you probably won't find more than a few who actively post.
Sites evolve and the old are replaced by the new. When that stops happening sites usually go under. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

I think many of them couldn't get their razors to pass the HHT and just gave up.

A lot of folks, especially newbees, get the idea in their head that the HHT means the razor will shave great. My own experience has told me the HHT only means its sharp, sharp doesn't mean it will shave let alone give a good shave.
A lot of eBay folks are describing their razors as passing the HHT as a selling point. When I see 'HHT' in the listing I leave there and keep looking as it tells me they really don't understand the product they are trying to sell.Last edited by DoughBoy68; 03-17-2014 at 04:39 PM.

Yes - when I started investigating SR shaving, after awhile I stumbled on this website, and read Jack's, "The Noob Chronicles", where he detailed his entire first year I think in SR shaving. I was fascinated by what he wrote, and after awhile felt that I kind of got to know him. He's the one, along with the Manliest Shave video, that got me to pull the trigger on ordering a starter kit, and then finally joining this site, and what a great ride it's been.
Finally got to meet Jack in downtown TO when I bought a Revisor 8/8 razor from him, very nice guy and a class act! He doesn't seem to post really anymore, but then again, a new baby and a young family has a way of doing that.
But yes, still chuckle when I heard the term, "necroposting", new people to the site responding to threads years old...great stuff never goes away!
Cheers!

It's a crying shame to see newbies give up after a couple months,
,,,,leaving all that nice equipment in the classified section on the way out,,,,
