Thread: Aahh the AD's - beginners beware

A warning to all,
G'day Ladies & Gentlemen, please observe that throughout this fine site & very possibly the last post you read ( for example like this Razors Anonymous?!? ) you may notice the repetitive scenario of members posting images of a multitude of recent acquisitions,
These posts are classic examples of the fully manifested (and possibly spiralling out of control) cases of Acquisition Disorders aka: AD’s
Some of these disorders although not common in the broader community, appear to run rampant among the smaller and select, but growing group of usually unrelated practitioners of the finer arts of hair removal whilst in search of the inevitable yet often elusive Baby Butt Smooth (BBS) shave finish.

These disorders which could be attributed to the same primal instincts that possess “Bower Birds” to collect & display blue objects in & around their nest in order to attract & impress a potential mate,
or like a sufferer of the more commonly known Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) where the uncontrollable impulse to repeatedly perform an act in order to satisfy an unknown urge must be endured.

When left unchecked this behaviour can & often will lead to or include a combination of disorders with a similarly obsessive nature, these can include but are not limited to the following;
RAD Razor Acquisition Disorder
HAD Hone Acquisition Disorder
ASAD After Shave Acquisition Disorder
SBAD Shaving Brush Acquisition Disorder
SCAD Shaving Cream Acquisition Disorder
SSAD Shaving Soap Acquisition Disorder

So if like the Bower bird in search of that show stopper item, you find yourself constantly browsing & checking for updates on sites like the SRP Classifieds or the multitude of sites throughout the world graciously catering to these very distinct disorders or going miles of your way or to check out antiques stores, flea markets, garage sales or the like in order to satisfy the urge to find a bargain for an item, you may or may not very well be able to justify buying to a fellow practitioner of this fine art let alone a non-sufferer
or you feel the need to take drastic actions like this ( The Start of the end of Acquisition Disorder... ) but can’t find the will power or strength to overcome your impulses.

Then maybe, just maybe, you need help, and in order to seek the required help I would recommend you take part in one of the many “Meet Ups” or workshops that could be taking place in an area near you,
if no “Meet ups” are taking place in an area near you, then this may just be a great opportunity for you to possibly get the ball rolling on your own meet up?

As it is at these “meet ups” that you will be able to openly discuss with & even gain hands on experience from like-minded participants who’s own experiences at the hands of such disorders could can help you correctly direct your own actions to work for you instead of against you in search of the BBS finish you may be after.

So in the mean time remember to keep the open discussions going we all love razor porn.

I am sure I don't have a problem like that! But as I look at all that I have 'responsibly' collected in a frighting short time I realize that I don't have any blue shave stuff. Um... I'll gotta go... Blue... Hmmm

that what the Barbicide in the jar is for, just to satisfy this problem on the bench LOL
