    Default Senior member!

I just noticed that it labels me as such in my avatar area. When did that happen, 100 posts? Do I get a free bowl of soup or anything for this? - John

PS I'm bored and on many conference calls today, as you may have guessed...

100 posts sounds right. You have to be more careful about what you say now! Newbies will follow your advice to the letter!

When I hit 100 posts balloons and confetti started falling from the ceiling ---then I realized I had become a senior member.

Yeah, freaking X has almost 4000 under his belt. I have close to three hundred in my first month though. It helps that I am self employed and sit in front of a computer all day.

I didn't feel that I had earned my senior member ship, hence the apprentice was added. This was due to the fact that another newby thought I was a "guru" which I am most obviously and blatantly not. I am not implying that anybody else do this, and I realize that the senior member status is not to imply that your are an expert. Just my own personal thing . Maybe I will switch after a few more restorations and quality honings.

Ah yes, with "senior member"-ness comes great responsibility. A heavy weight has been placed upon your shoulders, my good fellow...

As you are no doubt aware, some of the most illustrious shavers of our time have worn the senior member mantle. DaVinci, Newton, Fermat, and more recently Eddison, Hawkings and ...um... Swartzenegger.

From among the ranks of senior members, one is selected per generation - a chosen one - Buffy, the Grand Master Shaver (all Grand Master Shavers take the title Buffy upon coronation). His job is to keep a terrible secret - a secret that if made known would change the world forever...

It falls upon me to induct you, as a new senior member, into the hallowed and ancient ranks of the Order of the Knights of the Straight. Formed over three thousand years ago, the Order protects the Grand Master Shaver and his secret from those who seek dominion and power over the world's shaving public.

Our ancient enemy, Gillette-Dei , will stop at nothing to uncover our dread secret. But the Order has stood firm these thousands of years and will continue to do so as long as members, like yourself, stand united.

Time is short, their eyes are everywhere. Beware the man with the prosthetic ear (shaving accident, I believe). Trust no one. NO ONE!

    James.....or am I?....
