    Default First time in AOS

I understand Selfridge is responsible for a lot of how retail operates today. In days of old things were behind glass or worse in drawers and you had to know what you wanted in order to buy anything. I have all the razors, brushes etc that I need but thought it might be worth a trip to AOS since I was at the mall anyway. I now know how it must have been. Everything out of reach neatly displayed behind glass. I had a discussion with the employee who seemed in awe when he asked what I shave with a I told him a straight razor. If I was just looking for a new shaving method, I would not have purchased anything in the store. It all looked like fancy cartridge systems. They had a strop behind glass but no straight razors. Just a shavette next to it. It was a very surreal experience.

That's strange; in the AoS stores around here (Southern California) all of the products, including samples are out on display to pick up and inspect, except for the (blunted) straight razor samples.
