Thanked: 0Newbie question - advice sought
Gentlemen of the forum - I have been directed over here from the British Blades forum (www.britishblades.com/forums) with this query.
Top to bottom:
Stacy of London - "Stacy NU Razor", marked "Sheffield Hand Forged" on obverse
Joseph Rodgers, Sheffield
Kelly, Liverpool - "Diamond Edge"
Inherited from my father who collected all sorts of things! Age unknown, condition is used but clean - any ideas of value? I'd put them up in the Classified section, but don't know how much to ask...
I have a complete Rolls Razor somewhere as well - would anyone be interested?

Thanked: 9I would wager that the value they have as a keepsake from your Dad is higher than the financial value they have.
For example, I might only be interested in the Rogers and I don't think I would pay over, say, $50 - if it's nice and clean, no spotting, etc. maybe even less because it seems to have replacement plastic scales
Hope this helps
Cheers
Ivo

Thanks for speaking out and doing it so diplomatically, Ivo.

I was hoping to score the rodgers, but had no idea about its value.
Ah well, I already bought a Rodgers today.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Thanks for a very polite let-down - I didn't actually have any idea what they were worth, or even if they were worth anything! They aren't razors that my Dad used - as I said, he was a great collector and swapper of things like this - so no great sentimental value attached.
If you're interested in the Rodgers, you can have first refusal. I'll try to put up a better picture, as this one has come out a bit dark (maybe a bit close for the on-camera flash).
Any idea of value on the others?

I'm interested in a complete rolls. But I don't have any money to spare. So I'll have to let it pass.

They don't fetch much on e-bay. somewhere around $25 or so at the max.
