To my grandsons Maxwell and Henry
Boys . . .
May you blossom into gentlemen
Stay strong
And follow your own path
Have a keen intellect
A kind heart
And a sense of humor
Discover profound love
Protect your honor
And remember who you are
Accept people for who they are
What they are
And don't judge them
Read great books
Listen to glorious music
And write sparkling sentences
Enjoy easy conversation
Learn to listen well
And don't interrupt
Love tasty food
Fine wine
And an occasional cognac and cigar
Choose a Stetson over a baseball cap
Remove it in the presence of a lady
And at the dinner table
Choose a silky silvertip
A fragrant shave soap
And a sweet straight razor
And hey, you need a lovely strop, too
The rest
Well
Figure it out for yourself

YES! And may their Grandfather live long and teach these attributes personally!
Oh....and dole out some blades, brushes, and soaps as the boys need a shave!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Indeed, my dear friend, I am already planning a shave den for the boys (5 and 2).
Each has a Gillette Aristocrat, Fatboy and Red Tip. They can haggle over 24 straights, 12 each (I am staying around 24 straights, and hopefully 8 custom made, four each).
And brushes, of course: Thater, Rooney, shavemac, Savile Row, Simpson and Vie-Long. I don't like boar bristle brushes so nothing in that department.
They can toss a coin between a Kanoyama 80000 and 70000, and choose between a Bison cordovan or Torolf horse.
And I have a good supply for them of Martin de Candre, The Art of Shaving soap (old formula), Le Pere Lucien, Czeche & Speake, Valobra patchouli, Mike's Natural Soaps, and Klar Kabinett (the sweetest barbershop soap on earth), Xpec cream, if still around, and BAUM.BE cream.
And maybe a book on the world of straight razor and traditional shaving my dear friend Lynn and I might work on. I hope so.
Oh, not that I plan to move to the big barbershop in the sky any time soon. This is for the future.
