Thread: Think i have a problem like many others here....# I hope

Well I started out with the curiosity of straight razors about 4 months ago maybe even less...... not wanting to dive straight in I thought "hey you hate shaving why bother" but the curiosity got the better of me so I started down the path of a Shavette ( cheap nasty one bought on line ). Yet i started to grow fondness over the time it takes to prep the face etc. obviously started with a few nicks/ cuts but got the hang of it quickly.

So it then said to myself what the hell - buy a descend one ( Shavette ) and seeing as you like it ~note in the back of my mind the end goal is to have traditional straight~
Bought a feather artist club SS shortly after and loved it.... Super sharp albeit a little unforgiving.

about a month after that I got the sudden urge to have a safety razor - week later I got two... surprised how easy was to them..

Then last week just browsing the for sale adds and i come across a nice deal for 2 Dovo straights - Ivory Dovo basic and the Ebony Astrale both in excellent condition. these came complete with a rich man strop from Whipdog not even used.

Sorry for the longish post just thought id share what seems to be an obsession

We won't tell! Wait u till you discover the world of hones and honing. But how is your shaving, getting good results with all types of razors?

Yes getting very smooth shaves I have to say with all types... i find it hard to go against the grain on the right side of my face with a straight or shavette... the safety razor comes out then - just under the jaw line. i think its because the hair grows in strange way like multi directional.

ahhhh yes believe it or not im keeping an eye out for one or two... but gotta save the monies first and of course not let the other half know she will think feeding the kids are more inportant

RAD is a gateway or maybe it's the BBS. Either way nice stuff!

It's a problem hobby since it's hard to shave more than once every day without considering skin grafts.

Nice selections - enjoy a fine shave.

If the wife complains, just say you want to blend in here
