Thanked: 983I've never had a real problem with the way those things shave. I wasn't one to get irritation as many others do, but I do have something against paying out so much for blades all the time. I never bothered with the canned foam, I just used soap and shaved in the shower back then. I did get more ingrown hairs than I do now, but that could be a result of having a better knowledge of technique. What I do know is that my shaves are now much cheaper, satisfying and done with less waste. Swapping around between Cut-throats and DE's as I do I'm still on the same box of 100 blades that I've had for a few years now, and that cost me $26.
I really don't feel the urge to return to the 'modern' razors when the old styles do the job just as well, if not better.

Gillette already knows it will be a hit because their market research has already been completed and once the Ad blitz starts shavers will flock to the improved contraption.
The fact is they already know what Mr Gillette knew that folks will pay for convenience. You know if you drive a car with a manual tranny you have much better control of a vehicle and until recently got better mileage. That doesn't matter because folks want the convenience of an auto and pay more upfront and in repairs and in increased gas costs.
I guess that's the bottom line.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

"...to protect men from the countless perils of moderate head tilting." How funny is that?
"The Gillette product line of razors and personal care products became part of Procter & Gamble when P&G bought the company in 2005. Razors are one of the most profitable businesses for P&G with operating margins of 31%. Procter & Gamble controls 70% of the global blades and razors market led by Gillette." How funny is this?
P&G? They got all the money and now they have the balls to prove it.

Dear Gillett r and d,
May I suggest a few future improvements.
1. The I-shave essentially the same as any other razor on the market but has a reassuring blue glow.
2. The 100% fat free calorie buster. Come complete with bathroom scales so finely tuned they can actually detect the change in weight pre and post shave. It also has a built in calorie counter so you can see all that hard work pay off.
3. Shave On demand. Missed your favourite show? Don't worry the razors built in hard drive recorded it for you to watch later.
4. Pressure razor. The razor with a built in blood pressure monitor.
5. Utility shave. The razor that tells you which utility firm is offering you the best tariff.Last edited by monkeypuzzlebeefeater; 07-15-2014 at 09:07 PM.
