Default Neck Shaved With Personal Razor

I recently visited my regular barber shop for my semi-annual trim. When the barber finished cutting my hair and was preparing to shave my neck I handed her my personal custom Wade & Butcher wedge (see pics) and said "Here, try this". She lather up my neck and with an ever so light touch proceeded to shave my neck. When finished she said "Wow! I love this razor. It just glided down your neck so effortlessly I couldn't tell it was cutting anything". I said, "Yea, that is how it shaves my face. I'm very fond of it myself".

That was quite an experience getting my neck shaved with my own str8 razor, you guys need to give it a try. I will be taking one of my own razors from now on when I get my hair cut.

I would LOVE if guys came in my shop and brought their own straight! Think of all the nice razors I would have the honor of using! OHHH This guy came in one time and was talking about how sharp his knife was,,,, so I said " bring it in next time and we will see if I can shave your neck with it" well he pulled it out of his flippen BOOT and said " here ya go" Well the darn thing gave his neck a great shave!!

Yeah I have my wife do mine with a straight. One of my earliest memories as a kid was getting my neck done at the barber with a straight.
When I'd get my crew cuts he'd also hold his cigarette in the same hand as the clippers, and could see it just above my eyes as he'd start at the front. Never burned my head - now that's skill

That is a beautiful W&B Bruce! Congrats on the great experience too! I don't have a barber anymore now that I shave my head! Haha!

This is interesting. It must be so different over there. Even barbers over here would have no idea of what a straight razor was and home to use one.
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

They were banned in 1982 from barber shops I think. I do my neck myself with a straight.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Interesting. But if it were YOUR straight why would it be banned? Plus if it were their straight and they treated it properly (i.e. like a tattoo shop) wouldn't it be OK? My point is it seems to me (vie the varied and various posts) that the US is thus far further advanced in regards to the uptake of past shaving apparatus usage-inism-ismsssssss....

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

    I remember those days.

My barber, Bernie, would be giving me a burr (called a buzz now, I think), yakking with the men waiting, and having a crap game going beside my chair.

Well they have to be furthert advanced at something don't they carl i think the reason was hygene, though a barber (youngish, shavette weilder) said something about sharpness, i suspect he is wrong.
