Stropping a Cartridge
So in the link provided, there are two YouTube videos embedded. The first is of a dude who is using denim to strop his cart - its short and includes close up photos of the blade before and after stropping.
The second is of some dude who gave up on his straight but is now marketing strops just for carts.
Its entertaining! For me, a straight guy, it was very entertaining!

I was prowling auction sites for barber hones and came across a hone in a wooden box meant to be used with a cartridge. I thought it was overkill.

Remember that the only real test is the shave test.

That's correct. The only real test is the shave test. By the way, it works!

I don't doubt that it can help. I have no desire to use a cartridge though.

I guess what this and other ads I've seen recently say to me is that people really don't like the way they're shaving and spending money on cartridges to shave. So a few enterprising entrepreneurs are finding ways to make ben more money by selling gimmicks to "extend" the duration of a cartridge. I saw one ad that said you'd be able to get 100s of shaves from a single cartridge.
If you look at the prices of cartridges, that shouldn't surprise any of us, but it saddens me that folks are naive enough to fall for "150 shaves out of one cartridge for a $35-40 gimmick.Just call me Harold

I don't like plastic. I even ask for paper bags at the grocery or I bring my reusable bags. To think of shaving with a multiblade plastic razor let alone stropping one? I just will stick to my Swedish Steel wrapped in Hawksbill stropped on Japanese made horse butt. We aew in such the minority among men worldwide. What a difference straight razor shaving has made in my life...so thankful.
