The straight razor industry needs an event to cause an earthshaking new and improved interest in straight shaving.

That event might be a best-selling book followed by the film industry's release of a macho movie based on the book that features a macho male star who shaves daily like a pro with straights and is then devoured by a beautiful starlet who can't get over his close and smooth shaves. Every male in the world would want to be just like that macho guy on the silver screen.

Think of the value of your meager razor collection increasing two minutes after the movie release.

Any authors and/or screen writers can take heed...................

We are involved in a niche interest. Other peoples reaction to it will always be varied and will, in many cases, lack understanding. It goes with the territory. Don't waste too much energy being defensive. The reason why we are all here together is because we share this interest. Participate, celebrate, enjoy....don't bother trying to justify it.

It's hard to fell like a 1920's gangster when your shaving soap and aftershave smell like fruity candies...

    Cheers.

I doubt straight shaving will take off to much with the hipster/millennial crowd, it takes time and patience and you're not good at it right away, so after a hashtag post or two, it will be off to whatevers trending and cool at that moment....like their dinner or something

    Gentlemen,

Forgive me for being presumptuous, but who the devil is this author and what are his straight razor shaving credentials? Anyone who calls the strop the strap obviously knows nothing about the straight razor world. Yet here he is spouting off about it. Unfortunately, some potential straight razor shavers will read his ludicrous comments and head the other way.

Obie, the last time I looked there were no SRP members on the moron list that the so called hipster is on.
