Default Straight razor collection for sale

    Folks,

It is far out of my price range at this point, but a gentleman has listed his razor collection on the Phoenix Craigslist site. He has 180+ razors and collects nice stuff. If anyone is interested, the link to his collection is here. He wants to sell the collection complete, not piece by piece.

    Good luck,
    John

I corresponded with this gent, too. The collection, en masse, is priced just shy of $5k. Still just $26 per razor....

Ask an ye shall receive... (but no more cutting on my wifes new shirt!!!!)...lol
I've attached the spreadsheet (zipped) that he sent me with his appraisals.

He appears to be sensitive about splitting up his collection and questioned whether I was a dealer. I think we all wheel and deal occasionally, building our collections, but I'm not a dealer. If someone bought the entire collection, I'd be interested in a few pieces in there. Specifically, numbers 7,13,57,61,70,79,88 & 91. I like Morleys since they are my favorite shaves to date. I like Torreys and Worcesters, Providence razors as I'm like to collect local companies razors. I like in New England, US.

His asking price, as someone mentioned is somewhere around $5k. His name is Bob.

    Caveat emptor: the buyer beware.

We haven't seen the razors, recently we had a thread about a barber's estate: it looked nice but a lot of razors were in poor condition so it appeared.

You need to know more about the quality of the razors. How mint are the razors really? Do they all come with their coffins? How much work do they need to become shave-ready?

Good point Kees. I've only seen the pictures in the Craigslist posting. I make no claims, nor do I have any ties to this seller. I simply engaged him as an interested buyer. When he declined on splitting up the collection, I bowed out and offered the link up since others on these boards may be interested. - John

If I drop the next $5k on anything but a hot-tub, my wife will have my jewels with a straight razor...
