Default Another question for lady shavers of SRP

My granddaughter was Bat Mitzvah earlier this year (means she is a woman). I got a str8 from fleabay with her name on it. Would it be cool (?appropriate?) for me to give it to after clean-up? And, if so, what accessories do you recommend?

Her brother will be Bar Mitzvah early next year and I intend to give him one with the family name on it.

Got to be the most unique Bat/Bar Mitzvah present(s) ever. All I can remember getting was a new winter coat and the adults had a few extra shots of Slivovitz.

I personally think it would be cool to get her started right but I'd check with her parents first. Father's might think it's cool, especially for sons, but Mother's can be weird and overly protective (and it will make no difference if her Mother is your sister or sister-in-law).

I say accessories should include a Victorian era scuttle (lots of flowers and pretty scenes on those, a decent badger brush and a soap or cream for sensitive skin (to start) with a pleasant fragrance, like lavender.

Last visit I gave them Opinel No 6. Not shave ready, but that 12C26 (Inox) takes a fierce edge. It took the grandson almost 3 weeks to cut himself, so I think they (parents) will at least give permission to keep.

Great gifts to go along with the straight razor would be a strop (a practice strop is perfect and not too expensive, when she cuts it up, no tears need be involved). I'd also consider a nice pre-shave, soap and aftershave. There are some nice things out there for ladies now. I did a few videos on ladies straight razor shaving, feel free to pass them on and let me know if you have any questions! Best, Tif

Good suggestions. BTW, they are in Gilbert. When we are out there will give her the URL.
