I don't know about that book, but if I remember correctly, you mentioned that you had ordered Lynn's DVD. I am guessing that this should be enough to get the basics of it down. After that it is really just learning your own face and how best to approach it, which can really only be learned through experience. If you do end up getting it though, let us know if it a good read.

If you want to read something, I'd recommend Anders' 'Sharp Practice' It's a great read and very informative. It should be available on Amazon.

    I just bought Luke's book.

It has 21 page, printed on stiff card (might be waterproof, I haven't tested it), with 22 roughly half page black and white photos. Image quality is grainy, but is well labelled so that you can tell which side is the blade edge. The idea is that it is a book that you can take into the bathroom with you, and consult as you start to shave.

    Sections are:

    Opening the Cutthroat
    Closing the Cutthroat
    Holding the Cutthroat
    Angling the Cutthroat
    Shaving the Moustache Area
    Shaving the Neck Area
    Shaving the Cheek Area
    Shaving the Jaw Line
    Shaving the Chin Area

Luke only describes shaving in the direction of growth.

Somebody else reviewed that book about a year or two back and they weren't very impressed.

Maybe I should write one. I'll call it straight shaving for dummies.
