    Default Razor Sales Decline

Are straight razor sales on the decline? Ebay, for instance, has had a very dramatic drop in listings. This too could be one of their "System Upgrades".

I've noticed that it is less common in the last 6 months to find good and sought-after razors for sale on eBay. I like 7 day sets and rare Wade & Butchers, but they are few and far between.

Yet, some good buys still do come up... I find it hard to get a fair BIN price, but that may be due to how many people are searching far more regularly than myself. I also notice there are more and more sellers listing their items at very high prices for what they are offering.

It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice

maybe good vintage razors are harder and harder to find after a few years of people hunting them in antique stores and such, and then hoarding them in large numbers soon large WB will be like tigers in the wild, almost extinct.

It is pre Christmas and sales seem slow too. There have been a number of razors not moving in the classifieds too. Although there is still a lot of razors on EvilBay they are certainly looking rather picked over. The over priced ones seem to go round and round. It makes a guy wonder if suddenly in late November is sales are going to pick up and prices with them, that would be the trend on a lot of other things. Wait watch and see.

I think buyers shouldn't be shy to make an offer on an item even if there is only a BIN price. Sometimes you can get lucky.

Yes, collectors do 'hoard' them, then they eventually die and their relatives put their treasures in an auction house, or on ebay. Nobody is taking them along with 'em ........

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

The Key I think is,I learned that Hoarding Razors is not a good thing, you end up with perhaps 100s of razors that never get used (I did that)
I fixated on one rare brand, sold off all the rest and concentrated on collecting the best of the best.
I have 10 Razors Now,they all get used, they never wear out,so need to ever buy any more (well I did Buy a Palmera last month for real cheap
If I can get them for under $35 am still in the game, but no more collecting for me.
