Default What to do when the desire to shave exceeds beard available

Here, slightly modified, is a response I sent to a SRP member who complained that he wanted to shave more often than beard available.

Oh boy, here we go! I have a number of solutions for you, in no apparent order.

1: The power of positive thinking. Internally directing your beard hairs to grow faster so that you have more to shave.

2: Shave an hour later each day for a while and see if that increases shaveable acreage.

    3: Rogaine.

4: Invent beard wigs so that you can shave more frequently.

5: Volunteer at an old people's home to give shaves to those that can't do it for themselves anymore - at least you will have the act of shaving to enjoy.

6: Time travel to the past to make sure you are born into a line of overly hursite men that require twice daily grooming.

7: Resign from you occupation and open a shave only business in downtown DC. I'm sure they all need to be more than presentable in that town.

8: Darken your beard area with a water soluble dye, lather and, using a shavette without a blade, indulge in the act of shaving for enjoyment and fulfillment of your latest obsession.

Other than these suggestions I would advise a 12 step program aimed at controlling these heart felt desires we all, the straight razor shavers of the world, suffer from. I didn't need to shave this Sunday morning, but I did because I had this surge of guilt if I didn't and it would have put me in a black mood for the rest of the day.
