    Default Red Bumps??

OK, guys I have a little issue/problem. I have to wear a shirt and tie everyday for work. By the end of the day I have these little red bumps on my neck where the collar meets my skin. By the end of the week it gets kind of hard to shave that area. Is there anything I can use on my neck to stop this from happening?

It could be a mild allergy to your laundry soap aggravated by the scraping of your collar. Or your washer isn't rinsing well enough. Maybe less stiff collar?

I think it may also arise from too much starch if you dryclean like this? Gets the collar pretty hard, and as you move...

I haven't experienced this but I'd think you might benefit from going light or no starch and using sth like Jason 6-in-1 beard therapy. Or it may be as simple as unbuttoning 1 button and spreading the collar, loosening the tie (if you wear one). Now you're comfy and nonchalantly cool

Hate to point out the obvious, but have you measured your neck recently?

I suffered the same a few years ago, then I re-measured my neck and found it had, erm, 'expanded' by half an inch. I bought a new shirt size 15 1/2 and you know what? More comfortable, no red marks of aggravation.

I'v always been pretty skinny, but something started to happen when I hit 30 and, well, I believe it afflicts all of us at some stage.

My company is dress down because we are 'Young, fresh and dynamic' and a couple of weeks ago I had an interview and ended wearing a collar and tie all day for the first time in 3 years..the result? Absolute hell on the neck line! I too have suffered from the evil mid thirties expansion and the collar was tighter than expected and the friction played merry hell with my skin.

Leave the top button undone behind the tie! It's the way forward! (Or you could just buy bigger shirts! )

Yep, I almost never button all the way up on any shirt, tie or no tie (and I don't think I've used a tie in the last couple of years)

Funny, this reminded me of my father-in-law. He shaves every day, sometimes twice a day and has such a beard, that he shreds all his shirts' collars in a very short time He's getting new shirts all the time. He also uses a disposable, often with water only and I have NEVER seen burn, bumps, cuts, whatever. Sandpaper beard, tough elephant skin. Would be too macho if only my mother-in-law wasn't bossing him around

    Cheers
