Thanked: 0Does straight razor belongs to dangerous sharp object prohibited item list in EU?
Hi forum members,
I live in Germany and I want to buy some straight razors from the US.
The situation is that it is problematic to buy things from outside EU, and I use a US mail forwarding company. However, it tells me that straight razors are prohibited items - dangerous article / sharp objects, and will not be able to help me to handle that to bring those over to the European Union (EU) from the US.
What is your experience with shipping or receiving shipment of straight razor, in particular related to in EU countries?
Thanks for your help!
Best,
TJ

Thanked: 116I normally get them delivered to a friend in Luxembourg... the customs officers are way friendlier and relaxed than in Germany

Thanked: 0I want to have a friend in Luxemburg who can receive international shipments for me as well! :/
I really don't know what to do if the custom officer here (in Berlin) tell me that these straight razors are prohibited items (which is NOT!).

Thanked: 3228There seems to be no problem shipping them in the post from various EU countries to North America. Must be an import problem with certain EU countries.

I don't know which forwarding company you are referring to - but they are wrong. I've had numerous razors sent to me from all over the world and never had a single question. The USPS will ship them if properly packaged - I generally get a standard sized box when I buy from US sellers. Obviously you may find that you have to pay import duty/tax/VAT/handling or whatever, but this has never put me off.
My service is good, fast and cheap. Select any two and discount the third.

Thanked: 3228You should be able to email German Customs asking if straight razors are prohibited from being imported and also the German Post to see if they have any shipping restrictions on them.

Since you have straight razor manufacturers in Germany, How do they send their wares to customers?
The easy road is rarely rewarding.
