Thanked: 0VICTORY IS MINE!
SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I finally got one of the antique shop specials I bought all nice and honed up. It could use a little Cr2O3 but that will wait for a while. I spent a lot of time doing 1-3s on the 4k/8k and then 5 and 5 on the Keen Kutter Kombination that I bought and lapped (It's flat, but I could work on the edges a little more)(And I just realized that you don't wanna abbreviate the name of that hone). Anyway, Stropped it linen and leather, and my first honing job came out BBS! There was a little drag, nothing bad, but it definately felt better than that crappy Fromm POS I've been using. God I've missed a real blade! Huzzah!
Here's a picture of that Robeson razor surrounded by some American, Canadian, British, Mexican, Euro, and Dominican Republic coins:

Feels great, doesn't it? And I'm sure the shave was nice too.
Congrats,

It's quite a sensation to get an excellent shave with a razor that you honed yourself
. The Fromm thing must be a matter of personal preference as both of mine are good shavers.
