Just like riding a bike?
Afternoon gents.
As the title (sort of) suggests I'd put my straight razors away for quite a while (my girlfriend's fear of them and what they'd do to me made the nagging unbearable!). I'd also succumbed to that trend of growing a beard for December and most of January, meaning I hadn't had a shave even with a DE for the thick end of 2 months.
Now, last week I'd decided that the beard was more irritation than it was worth and I'd therefore shave it off. Picking up my HSB "Our Daisy" after a shower I set to work, and after about 25 minutes I was very pleased to be BBS with the only hint of a nick being on some scar tissue on my chin that almost always bleeds during any shave. I was very surprised to have had such a success considering how out of practice I was (my girlfriend was also astounded!), but I was delighted that I hadn't lost my technique. Subsequent shaves have been excellent too!
I just wondered if anyone else here has had similar experiences following a "prolonged break" between SR shaves, or whether I was just plain lucky!
