    Default new razor and strop

Mr. Postman made me really happy today, he did wake me up 8 a.m., but even that didn't make me mad... he gave me two packages, 1 small and 1 big. I already knew what there would be, my new Dorko 6/8 str8 and Tony Millers 3'' Red Latigo hanging strop, those are so beautiful, i know my friends will be jealouse cause they are really into str8 shaving these days too, they have noticed that i gaves best damn shave ever. SO THANKS TO BOTH OF YOU, BRENDON AND TONY... 1 question, do i need to paste that strop right away? if not, when i know i should do it?

No you don't need to paste that strop. The strop should be used without paste of any kind. Once or twice a year some mink oil or other type of oil but never a paste.

Donald's absolutely correct. Just rub it with your palm 5-10 times before each stropping (it adds your natural oils to it and warms up the leather to increase the draw).

Depends on what kind of paste it is... If it's an abrasive paste, you should not use it on a hanging strop. You could experiment with making a paddle and trying it out. If it's a conditioner, like a strop dressing, use it for general conditioning like once a year.. The onyl other occasion would be when you nick the strop and need to fix it. Here's how you do it:
    1) Rub out the nick with pumice stone
    2) Give the strop a good wipe with a leather cleaner that's safe on skin to remove any pumice grit from it
    3) Condition just the general area where you removed the nick and maybe about the same area around it.
    4) Wait for an hour
    5) Condition the whole strop
    6) Let sit for a day and it will be ready to use again

Its a bottle of strop dressing. My new 2 1/2 in. Vintage Honey Brown from Tony arrived on Monday. He puts a bottle of strop dressing and a practice strop in with them. My Dovo Inox arrived at the same time too.
