Thank you everyone for the comments and suggestions. I have been using a DE Razor for the past year, which has helped to teach me good lathering as well as putting me in the habit of cleaning and drying all my equipment after I am done shaving. I am looking forward to being a part of this community!

Welcome to the forum!
Like the other guys have said, that's a good summary of the main aspects of beginning the straight razor journey. What will be interesting in say a year or two's time is to come back and revisit this thread with what's changed for you over time.
