    Default Clean up question

I have a small "smudge" of discoloration on one of my favorite blades that has just appeared...but it is my best shaver at the moment with a wonderful edge. My question: If I stay off the edge, can I use Mother's or some other mild polish just on that spot, maybe with a Q-Tip to try and get it off? Or does anyone have other suggestions?

My # 1 concern is not messing up the edge.

Some pics would really help but if you stay away from the edge Mothers should take care of it. Mothers is some real good stuff, been using it on blades for a few years now with outstanding results.
