Yes, Pinky and the Brain was amazing. Too bad they don't show it anymore.

I really don't know why it was taken off the air. It ran for quite a while. Just like other shows things move on and cartoons generally have a shorter life compared to normal sitcoms. Well, other then classic WB cartoons and Disney.
It was kind of bound for a limited life though. Despite its brilliance, you can only try to take over the world so many times before you run out of good material.

Thanked: 0Ooh, I know the answer to this! I worked at a WB TV Station (WNOL in New Orleans, WB38) until 1999.
"Pinky and the Brain" was a spinoff of "Animaniacs," and was produced by Steven Speilberg. But in 1998 Warner Brothers made a huge cutback in their animation department, and quit producing both shows. They were very expensive to produce, compared to the revenue they generated.
Both "Animaniacs" and "Pinky and the Brain" have run on Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon, but there are fewer than 100 episodes of each, so they quickly reach the saturation point. Interest drops off, the ratings decline, and they get taken off the air. But I think eventually they'll come back, as a new audience that hasn't seen them before will view them with fresh eyes.

I loved Animaniacs. Maybe I wouldn't dig it as much now as when I was 13, but it was pretty funny.

Hey women just don't have the same sence of humor. Most women I meet don't like the 3 Stooges or The Honeymooners by contrast most men I have spoken to enjoy them. Go figure.
