Default The Last Of The Little Mesters

Awhile back, Richard aka geezer mentioned a book called "Stan Shaw, Master Cutler, The Story of a Sheffield Craftsman by Geoffrey Tweedale.
I Googled it, found the book & one seller about 12 miles from me had it for over $250 but it was new. It was beyond what I would pay so I did find a good used copy for under $20 so I bought it. It mentions the little mesters in it. I think Richard also mentioned "The last of The Little Mesters" in another thread so I Googled it & I found a link to an article about him (Stan Shaw). It is short & goes down to the bottom of the pic of an old tool which was brought up in another thread, possibly the "Buthered" thread. That tool is very interesting & works by using a string to go back & forth to drill holes, enlarge them & so on. I thought I would share the link with everyone. He is "The Last Of The Little Mesters" & at 87 is still working 2 days a week from 7am-4pm but you can read it in the link here:

Many thanks to Richard for this very interesting man.
